Sometimes , designers rely on words to convey messages but they uses words differently from they ways writers do. To designers the word's appearance is equally important as their meaning shows to the audience. The visual forms, no matter typography or handmade lettering they each performs many communication functions as they can capture the audience's attention on a poster, identifying the product name on a package or truck and present running text as the typography in a book does.

SYMBOLS, LOGOS AND LOGOTYPES.

Just like imagery, symbols and logos also have huge potential to evoke rapid responses. It is also an abstract way to represent an idea or identity and the logos or logotypes are to show that the products belongs to a particular company. To create this, the designer must have a clear understanding of what's the company identity or ideas represents and also don't forget who their target audience is. Symbols are the abstract representation of a particular idea or identity while logotypes are corporate identifications based on a special typographical word treatment. Some designs are hybrids, which they combines both symbols and logotype together.
